Though we are all used to the original season of Love and Hip Hop with Chrissy and Jim fighting for that hood love, Emily fight for that monogamous love and Olivia and Somaya grinding to stay in the hip hop world that the show is based on, Love & Hip Hop Atl did not disappoint. The show started off showcasing producer Stevie J and girlfriend of 15 years Mimi and their relationship. We knew something was bad before the story even developed because how could they have been together for 15 years when Stevie J was involved in that sex tape with rapper Eve ? We were more than right because not only was he cheating on her but he was blatantly cheating on her with his artist Jocelyn * cues Atlanta booty walking in front of the camera* Jocelyn who is obviously not afraid to be sexy and in love is shown throughout the episode calling Stevie daddy and talking about how beautiful he is and how well he takes care of her. It got real once Karlie an upcoming singer and friend of Mimi blurted out how close Stevie J and Jocelyn were. Though Mimi had all the evidence in front of her face you can tell this is going to be a long season of her crying and fighting for love... Kind of like a tougher Emily but still lots of crying and whining.
K. Michelle was also feature along side Known female rapper Rasheeda. They will be the seasons Olivia and Somaya if were making comparisons to the first season. They both have mildly successful careers and though known and talented they havent reached huge success so I guess this show will focus on their climb to the top and their struggle with the past holding them back. And now for the main attraction * drumroll please* I'd like to introduce you all to Erica, Lil Scrappy and Momma Dee. These scenes had to be the highlight of the show, with Erica and Lil Scrappy not holding back at all about Rapper Diamond openly breaking his heart and leaving him for Souljah Boy than him running to her for that ol thing back, these two are going to keep it real honest. Than we were introduced to a mom that took hood to a whole new level. Though I am deeply afraid of saying anything bad about momma Dee because of her confession of wanting to put Diamond back on the trap I will say this many were comparing her to Mama Jones but there is no Comparison. Momma Dee who clearly loves her Son Scrappy openly screams out that she is the Queen and will not give her seat up until she is sure the woman is right. She openly talks about her dislike for Diamond and doesnt apologize for it while ending with " In that order" She is the mom that makes her kid fight after one of the neighborhood kid tweets something reckless. This show maybe obviously ghetto but its entertainment and I for one will be watching every week so lets try to keep the hate mail and the letters to the NAACP at a minimum because some of us like a lil trash in our reality TV line up. If you want class turn to the news
